JKP Zone 16 Puchong embrace the belief in “working towards community bonding” as part of the Community Commitment to Social Responsibility to provide utmost assistance promptly and proactively when the need arises.
Thence JKP Zone 16 believes the importance in rendering help to a person or a family who had landed in an unfortunate situation and the assistance must be carried out quick to help reduce the degree of difficulty faced by the person or family at that moment and showered them the help when the help is needed most!
In a period of 2 weeks from end September to October, YB Teresa KOK informed the JKP’s Secretary regarding the plight of 6 families in Kg. Tengah, Puchong, who were unfortunate to have lost their homes and all other assets in a fire. The team quickly approached the residents from their respective Tamans and friends and helped mobilised assistance to these 6 families.
Alice is being tasked to be on the lookout for donors to come and provide their assistance in all forms to help alleviate the difficulties experienced by the victims.
We wish to convey a big thank you to these caring reporters from China Press (Ms. Yong Siew Lan), Sinar Harian (Nur Furhana), The Star (Karr Wei) and NST (Dawn Chan) who have helped with the publications in highlighting to the public of our plea.
Immediately, Ms. Beh Swan Swan on behalf of Magnum Group initiated their supports by donating several thousand of ringgits, some food supplies and electrical appliances to all 6 families to minimize their hardship.
In addition, Puan Siti Haja from SITI HAJA TEH, AZREEN AND KHUAN, and ADVOCATES & SOLICITORS has also donated in form of monetarism and supplying food to the victims.
We also received donations of cash and apparels from Puteri 10 Melia, Puteri 11, Puteri 9 and Puteri 10 Banyan Residents Associations, who shared the same compassions towards these victims.
YB Teresa KOK, our Cr. Chang and all 6 of us hope that these assistance would be of some consolation to these traumatised victims and earnestly wish that they will not have to wait too long for a more permanent shelter to be arranged by the relevant authorities.
We hope these caring and sharing spirit will bring forth impactful and tangible benefits to the Community and the People.
Some of our previous projects include:
