Letter to MB
First of all, we the residents of Bandar Puteri 11 Puchong, Selangor would like to express our confidence and satisfaction with YAB’s professionalism in managing the affairs of the Selangor State with great efficiency, transparency and fairness.
YAB and your team of dedicated State officials had, over a short period of 15 months, delivered many good services to the rakyat and had shown your caring and supportive attitude for the rakyat. For these, the rakyat are most thankful and appreciative of the State Government.
The residents of Bandar Puteri 11 Puchong, Selangor recently received a notice from MPSJ (enclosed) regarding a proposal by the developer to construct 3 blocks of 19 storey condominiums on a narrow site with steep slopes located next to our houses.
Obviously we are very concerned if MPSJ is to approve this unexpected proposal by the developer. We had given our reply (enclosed) to MPSJ stating the many valid reasons for our objections to the proposed condominium development.
Already a part of the road beside the slope had collapsed last year and the developer had to build a retaining wall to support the slope. We are therefore very concerned with the safety and environmental issues affecting us with this proposed high rise high density development.
We trust the State Government is also very careful and sceptical in approving high rise development on steep hill slopes, as several disasters had already happened in the past years and many innocent lives were taken away.
Currently, the main road leading into and out of Bandar Puteri 11, Puchong is dangerous with residents of an existing condominium parking their cars on both sides and blocking the winding and sloppy road. If this proposed development is approved, it will add another 422 condominium units of road users using this narrow stretch of road.
From the signature campaign that we carried out, all residents of Bandar Puteri11 Puchong that we met are strongly against the proposed development. The Chairman of Resident Associations, Bandar Puteri Puchong 10 and 12 nearby, also informed us
that their residents who happened to know about this proposed development are strongly against it.
YAB, this is not to say that we are the people against development. In fact we are all for development but in this case the project has to be planned and done in a proper and responsible way and be sensitive to the concerns of the affected residents.
At the time of purchase of our houses in 2007, we were shown sales brochure and township model layout by the developer that said this site is planned for low rise condominium development. We were promised a great view of the township below from our hill top houses at Bandar Puteri 11. With the proposed condominium development up, the view will be completely blocked. We paid a price for this privilege and feel cheated now. All of us have a very strong feeling that we have been mislead and misrepresented by the Developer as this is not the initial intention of the parties when the Sale and Purchase Agreement being executed. In this respect, we believe that we shall reserve our rights to commence legal action against the Developer (if necessary)
YAB, please forgive us if there is anything in this letter that we said which is not appropriate or correct. We are just ordinary rakyat trying very hard to safeguard our neighbourhood living environment and to protect our hard earned savings and investment in the value of the houses we had purchased.
We sincerely hope YAB can understand how unhappy the residents of Puteri 11 feel about this issue and hope you will be able to assist us in our standing up for a just and valid cause.
Lastly, we all wish YAB many more years of success and happiness in governing the State of Selangor.
