this is no good, with all the drilling and wiring. I have plaster ceiling on ground floor ceiling. It will be very messy to get the wire down to TV cabinet side.
ReplyDeleteMichael c
For those who is going to install Unifi, consider using homeplug so that there won't be any drilling and visible cable inside your house.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the speed is very good (yea rite, until there are many ppl using it).
Yeah, I wouldn't want that wire coming down my inside wall like that, even if it was trunked.
ReplyDeleteI am in a condo so my installation came in through the phone line to my home office. From there I have a home plug (Aztech 200 Mbps) between the WiFi router & the TV set top box in the bedroom. So, no extra wiring mess. If I was to do it again I think I would get the 1Gbps home plug as I have had the set top box lock up a couple of times presumably due to lack of signal and also I notice some picture problems watching the high definition channel which probably uses more bandwidth.
My Unifi has been down for a week! Anyone having the same problem?
ReplyDeleteHas anyone been able to install Astro Beyond without resorting to changing the cable built into our walls? Was advised that the existing signal cable between dish and decoder needs changing when switching over to Beyond.
ReplyDeleteHi I have no problem with my Unifi past one week. Have you contacted TM?
ReplyDeleteMy unifi is okay. call unifi to complain.
ReplyDeleteAstro beyond no need to replace cable if the wall cable quality is ok. Mine is ok. You can ask the installer to test the quality.
same thing here, down for a week plus... lousy service
ReplyDeleteCalled TM almost everyday to complain already, but they still cannot resolve the problem. Don't even know what is the problem......
ReplyDeleteI just enjoyed the Unifi service for 1 day only and it is down until now.....
That's bad. It is really by luck. Touch wood that mine is still ok, consistently getting the speed I subscribed for.
ReplyDeleteHope the service restore soon.
The regular Astro subscription uses coaxial cable to hookup between the dish and the decoder. They should be the same for those who will be subscribing to Beyond package,.
ReplyDeleteThanks to everyone attended yesterday MoonCake festival gathering event. Expecially to Mr Koo - the organiser and whoever did the sponsorships :) Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteHi, I think of instal for Unifi. Anyone if do not mind to allow me to visit your house to see how TM instal the wiring system ? TQ / from Y.H
ReplyDeleteY.H, I'm staying in Nadia 2.
ReplyDeleteFor external installation (fiber distribution point to fiber termination box, you can see from the picture above - pic 123). Standard.
I then have the fiber wall socket located at top floor, in the room (place nicely next to the power point). That is where my broadband termination unit and residential gateway located. I use homeplug for IPTV to avoid visible cabling.
Hi Nadia 2's. That's great to have you reply. If you do not mind can I dropbt to have a look at your house ? You may drop a mail to me at yhseow@yahoo.com for your privacy. TQ. YH
ReplyDeleteFor those having problem, take a look at forum.lowyat.net at the broadband user to user unifi section. I am the first who installed unifi in puteri 11 (according to the installer), till now no problem.
