Dear Puteri 11 RA,
ReplyDeleteThe proposed crematorium is located near our beloved taman. As we are on higher ground wind blowing towards our direction may carry along ashes.

pls can u engage MPSJ and assess its health and environment impact? after the condo protest issue and now we're seeing another crematorium issue. sigh.
regretted buyer :-(
Dear Regret Buyer,
ReplyDeleteWe share your concern on the crematorium's adverse impact onto us. We will speak to the MPSJ Councillor concern, Mr Stephen Chin - mobile 012-2330095 to voice our concern and get his comment. You all are also encourage to call him directly.

Should we initiate another signature drive to against the plan? I'm sure residents at Puchong Hartamas are having the same concern on health and environmental impact.
ReplyDeleteMr Stephen Chin did not answer my calls. I spoke with MPSJ Councillor for Bandar Puteri, Mr Tan Jo Hann. He understand our concern and will revert with information from MPSJ on the type of system to be installed at the crematorium. It should be something that takes care of environmental and health concern! Lets see.

I think crematorium is ok, as long as its a location that is not in the middle of a housing area or business centre. It should be somewhere secluded.
ReplyDeleteDo you all know that IOI has started soil studies on the land nead the hill slopes in Jalan Puteri 11/1A?
The machine was there last week for a couple of days, than they brought the machine to the top of the hill slope for a day or 2 to study the soil.
I believe, from what my Civil Engineer father in law told me, normally they do this to submit reports on the geology of the area.
Which means, they are thinking of developing that small little land.
On the Bandar Puteri Master plan, it says Apartments, which is ridiculous for an area of small size.
If this happens, we are going to have problems with our Security as this development will be within Puteri 11.
Also imagine the amount of cars and traffic which will be using the small road going up to Puteri 11, and the parking alongside the road on Puteri 11/1A. Last but not least, the value of all the houses.
Anyone knows more about this project? Any signature drive we need to do like the condo development?
I strongly support AxL's comments. Can we organise another round of signature drive to protest both the apartment projects along puteri 11/1 and 11/1A. We must be united to protect our lovely taman and fight until the end.
ReplyDeleteFor everyone's information, the Dedaun Puteri Apartments is located inside Puteri 10 and not along Jalan Puteri 11/1.
ReplyDeleteLets call IOI's office to find out what they are doing along Jln Puteri 11/1A. If it is apartment, tell them the residents will protest with our blood, sweat and tears.

Hi Anonymous October 28, 2010 11:42 AM
ReplyDeleteYes the Dedaun apartments, Dont really care about those, not inside our Taman
This are the ones in this website
http://www.ioiproperties.com.my/bdrputeripuchong/masterenlarge_status.html
You can see the master plan, looks like 2/3 blocks of apartments on the map
I dont know whether or not this plan is updated, but IOI are already like completing the Semi D projects quickly, and they must move on to somewhere else to make more money.
The condominium projects near Puteri Bayu is in the midst of being turned to townhouses, they must make revenue from somewhere else and this could be the next spot.
I am not sure if it will still be apartments/townhouses, either ways if its apartments, we will have issues with security, traffic, parking along 11/1A, and even when approaching our guard house, there will be a long queue of cars going in and out in the future.
We will need to hire more security guards for this new block of developments, what if they new residents in the future dont want to pay, we will have lots of challenges ahead.
Can someone find out about this development, it will be interesting, and I think we should protest again, I dont mind if they convert to bungalows or houses, makes sense but not apartments.
Email reply from Ms. Jessica of IOI Customer Service...will ask project dept. what the soil test is about? She does not know!!! She will revert back to me asap.
ReplyDeleteYes, if it is Apartment then the security and traffic situation in Puteri 11 will be impossible.
We must be very well prepared to fight another battle.

i am just concern about the crematorium issues...really near to the puteri and also puchong hartamas...we must voice out and don't want it build near to this area.
ReplyDeletecrematorium - smoke/ash from burnt corpse? oh no for neighbouring residents...
ReplyDeletePetition against crematorium
ReplyDeleteStephen Chin, h/p 012-2330095, the MPSJ Councillor for that area said that MPSJ is building a new modern crematorium to replace the existing outdated one. It will be an enclosed burning system. Any expert in this field who can comment?
ReplyDeletePuchong Hartamas RA also concern about this.

Bayu Puteri apartment and big part of Primrose gonna get hit too. Depends on how high the emission pipe.
ReplyDeleteSingapore is all crematoriums, no more burial ground. The smoke and ashes are contained within? No issue with nearby residents?
ReplyDeleteKiasu
Received confirmation from IOI that the soil tests they were conducting on the empty land beside Jalan 11/1A and on the steep slope is to monitor the stability of the land there.

crematory surely got smoke - search google and find many complaints. but don't built near residential areas but remote/industrial areas.
ReplyDeletehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cremation#Environmental_impact
ReplyDeleteHowever, there is a body of research that indicates cremation has a significant impact on the environment as well.[citation needed] The emissions from crematories include nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, sulfur dioxide, mercury, hydrofluoric acid (HF), hydrochloric acid (HCl) in addition to persistent organic pollutants (POP).

Crematorium smoke upsets local resident
ReplyDeletehttp://www.stuff.co.nz/manawatu-standard/news/4236961/Crematorium-smoke-upsets-local-resident
- seems that BLACK smoke is common, in US and NZ.
To know more about the crematorium, you can contact the MPSJ Councillor concern, Stephen Chin h/p 012-2330095, or email him at stephenchin@mpsj.gov.my
ReplyDeleteHe would like to hear from you...enquiries, complaints or suggestions.

Mr Chiam
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot for the confirmation on the soil tests near the vacant land next to Puteri 11/1A
Its a relieved to know that for the time being, its not done for future development projects, which I hope will stay that way
We will stay more vigilant and keep tabs on that area should any development work take place
