Termites Alert

We have been staying in Nadia2, for more than 3 months and hadn't been encounter any termites issue. Our new neighbour on the left almost completed their renovation and ready to move in in weeks' time.

Last Thursday morning, I noticed termites on my ground floor toilet door. Once I opened the door, those termites rushed into a tiny crack into the ground. I notified the maintenance guy who passed by, and he mentioned the Pest Control specialist had an appointment this morning and they will drop by my place after that.

Not knowing, Pest Control Specialist had appointment with my left neighbour. They had termites tracks in the store room, but didn't see the termites. Pest Control Specialist checked our house and couldn't find any termites tracks. At the end, they just sprayed the chemical into the tiny hole in my ground floor toilet.

I do believe the termites are somewhere out there inside the ground. Do keep an eye on your properties.

  1. That is really worrying.

Bandar Puteri has been known to have infestation of termites. Not really a surprise to IOI, take a look at steel frame for all doors used in Nadia 2. Given a choice the development would have chosen much cheaper wood frame.

Anyone could share what sort of preventive measures we could take?

  2. I tot ioi already perform anti-termite treatment during construction and come with certain yrs of warranty, no?

BTW, i think wood frame is more expensive, bro. Tat's why all developers are not using wood frame anymore.

  3. Micheal, which street you are staying? Perhaps extra precaution for ppl staying along that street?

  4. spraying does little to help. It only kills the termites in the immediate area. The queen/colony would be unaffected. they would just move their feeding grounds to your neighbour's house or worse, to another part of your house. Even if you spray your whole house, in a couple of months they will be back.

Use Centricon or similiar products that can kill the queen/colony.
